St. Patrick’s School Council have been busy thinking about ideas to promote good citizenship within the community.  By holding meetings and discussing what they think makes somebody a good citizen, has resulted in them devising a ‘St. Patrick’s Children’s Charter’. The charters are going to be placed around shops in the local community to demonstrate what a good citizen ‘looks like’. At St. Patrick’s we understand the importance of being respectful and kind towards others, and this should be seen not only when the children are at school, but also everywhere they go and with everyone they meet. They hope to promote this attitude among all of the pupils at St. Patrick’s by setting a good example to others and teaching them the qualities needed which would make them a good citizen. They are determined to bring a great sense of community to the people of Thornaby.
