Class 2

Welcome to Class 2

Welcome to Class 2

We are a mixed class of Reception and Year One children. We are part of the Foundation Stage and Key Stage One. Our teacher is Miss Newby and our teaching assistants are Miss Thompson, Miss Morgan and Mrs Moorhead.

This year in reception we are going to continue exploring the world around us whilst building on our mathematics and literacy skills.

We will aim to work hard, become independent learners and make lots of new friends.

We have PE on a Monday. If you could please send your child’s PE kit in on Mondays and we will keep them in school until Friday.

Keep checking our website and newsletters to find out more. Thank you for visiting our class page. Please feel free to pop into class if you have any questions 🙂

Birthday are FUN!

We started our new topic ‘Birthdays’ and decided to have a little party in class 2. We wrote birthday cards to Ernie, played party games including Pass the Parcel and Musical Statues. We had prizes and most importantly birthday cake.

Thursday 25th January

Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

We listened to the story of Jesus in the temple. In small groups the children worked as a team to make a church. They used a variety of construction materials. Some children tried to label them too.

Thursday 30th November

We started our new topic ‘Birthdays’ and Mrs Holtby came to class 2 for a visit. The children prepared some questions to ask her. Some of the children sang ‘Juliette’ a nursery rhyme. We had ‘Row, Row, Row your Boat, ‘Twinkle, Twinkle’ and one of our Christmas songs, Little Donkey. We all enjoyed having both of them in our class.

Snow Ready for Christmas

Thursday 30th November we had SNOW!!!!! The children had chance to play outside near the barn. They loved feeling the cold snow on their fingers and some made small snowballs. They really enjoyed seeing the snow falling. Lots of FUN!

Class Pet!

We would like to introduce you to our class tortoise, Ernie! Ernie is one year old and we are really enjoying learning about how to look after him. We are growing some food for him to eat and we take turns to help feed him and bathe him. We think he enjoys it in Class 2!
