We’ve got the whole world in our Hands
THE world is a stage for the children at St Patrick’s, with the school involved in a wide range of stimulating international activities.
St Patricks has a long and proud history of teaming up with schools in other parts of Europe to enrich the curriculum and give children an exciting look at the world beyond their own community.
We have just applied for a new Comenius project funded by the European Union which we have called ‘Brighter Learning for Better Futures.’ It comes after the success of another Comenius programme at St Pats called ‘Tomorrow’s success starts today.’
In our Comenius projects we work closely with schools in other parts of Europe. Our children produce work to send to their new friends in our partner schools and we have even sent pupils on a visit to a school in Belgium. It’s great to receive work from children in other countries and children and staff alike have learned so much from our Comenius projects.
St Patrick’s is also a fully accredited International School – an award that recognises our work to give a global dimension to the teaching and learning at St Patricks.
As well as a busy programme of work for our international projects St Pats also sends children on an annual adventure to Holland where Year 6 learn lots about our near neighbours, while having plenty of fun too.
